The scale of the three-runway system (3RS) project is almost equal to building a new airport next to the existing one.
Terminal 2 Expansion, Intermodal Transport Terminal Bonded Bridge,
Automated People Mover System and Baggage Handling System
Terminal 2 Expansion
The works include expansion of the Terminal 2 building, an annex structure, interconnecting bridges, landside transport facilities including viaducts and at-grade roads, underground utility services, footbridges and modification works to existing facilities at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). The provision of building services and airport systems also form a major part of the scope.
Scope of Work
- Underground Service Modelling and Coordination
- Viaduct Civil 3D Modelling and Documentation
- ABWF Modelling and Coordination
- MEP Modelling and Coordination
APM Systems
Building a new, 2,600-metre-long Automated People Mover (APM) system that will connect Terminal 2 with the new T3 Concourse. The new APM system will operate at a top speed of 80km/h and transport up to 10,800 passengers per hour.
Scope of Work
- Existing APM Systems under Terminal 1
- Existing APM Depot Reconfiguration
- New APM Line from T2 to T3
- Laser Scanning
- APM System Modelling and Documentation
- 4D Construction Sequences
- 4D Method Statements
Intermodal Transport Terminal Bonded Bridge
The ITTBB is situated between the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Hong Kong Port (HZMB HKP) and the Intermodal Transfer Terminal (ITT) adjacent to the SkyPier and serves as a dedicated direct vehicular access connecting the ITT of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the HZMB HKP
Scope of Work
- Tender Construction Sequence Animation
- Pier and Deck Modelling
- Abutment and Surface Network Modelling
